Chat Folders

Use Case

As a founder or project manager, you're handling three major projects at once. Your chat list is a chaotic mix of DMs from developers, three separate project group chats, general team channels, and a few social groups. Every time you need to find that one specific message about the "Project Alpha" deadline, you have to scroll through dozens of unrelated conversations, breaking your concentration and wasting precious minutes.

Tanka's Chat Folders are designed to solve this exact problem. The project manager can now create three new folders: "Project Alpha," "Project Beta," and "Project Gamma." They simply group the relevant DMs and group chats into each corresponding folder. Now, instead of one overwhelming list, they have a clean, tabbed view. With a single click on the "Project Alpha" folder, they see only the conversations relevant to that project, allowing them to stay focused, organized, and in control.

How to Use

  1. Navigate to the "Chat" tab.

  2. Click on the "+" on the top and select "New Folder".

  3. Type in the folder's name and the chats you want to put inside this folder.

  4. Select "Done" when you finish, and you will see the folder created next to the "All" sub tab below the "Memo" button and above all your chats.

Tips

  • Make a "🔥High Priority" folder for your most critical conversations, like your direct manager and key project groups. Check this folder first to stay on top of what's most important.

  • Add emojis to your folder names (e.g., "🚀 Project Phoenix" or "CLIENT: Acme Co.") to make them visually distinct and easy to find at a glance.

  • Create folders for short-term projects or events. Once the project is complete, you can easily delete the folder to keep your workspace clean and current.
